UExcel Exams—Excelsior College Exams
Limited Transfer
www.Excelsior.edu
UExcel exams (credit by exam) let you earn credit by exam rather than by taking a course that requires you to complete assignments and take multiple tests on a schedule. You don’t have to enroll in a degree program at Excelsior College to take UExcel exams.
FORMERLY ACE: These credits are no longer “ACE evaluated” and now are considered institutional challenge exams. This should improve the transferability slightly, though this is not the same as earning graded credit from a college directly, so your mileage may vary.
BIGGEST BENEFIT: the biggest benefit found in this resource is the number of upper-level options available. In other words, you should consider using an UExcel when you are looking for 300 and 400 level credit, especially for a business or bachelor of nursing degree.
UExcel Exams: $110 each
From the UExcel website: When you’re ready to sign up for the exam you want to take, check the academic calendar and choose the term in which you want to take your exam. You don’t have to be enrolled in a degree program to register for UExcel exams.
Use the link on individual exam pages to start the registration process. You can pay for your exam by credit card or payment plan. You’ll receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter in your MyExcelsior message center within 48 hours with instructions about how to schedule your exam and what you need to bring with you when you take it.
Pearson charges a test administration fee when you schedule your appointment to test. Additional fees apply for phone transactions (scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling). Visit the Pearson website for the current fee structure.
