5 Scholarships to apply for NOW

There is a robust section of scholarships of the HS4CC website, but when I update that list each quarter, I like to pick out a few that I think are of special interest to our Homeschooling for College Credit community. This post highlights 5 that caught my attention. Apply for these NOW, the deadline is approaching!

Earning college credit in high school doesn’t change the fact that your teen is entering college as a Freshman when they graduate high school. In most cases, scholarships are limited to students graduating high school this year and entering college in the fall as a regular college student, but click to check specific eligibility rules.

  1. National Eagle Scout Association Scholarships
    Sponsor: National Eagle Scout Association
    Amount: Varies
    Closing Date: December 1, 2020
    Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors through college juniors who are Eagle Scouts.

2. Sonlight Scholarship
Sponsor: Sonlight Curriculum, Ltd.
Amount: Up to $5,000
Closing Date: December 1, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to homeschool students beginning college in 2021 who have purchased and used five full Sonlight Curriculum History/Bible/Literature programs.

3. Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award
Sponsor: From the Top
Amount: Up to $10,000
Closing Date: December 4, 2020
Description: Award is open to classical instrumentalists, vocalists, and composers between the ages of 8 and 18 who have not yet entered college during the 2020-2021 academic year. This is the deadline for high school seniors only. Younger students may still apply. Deadline II is January 4, 2021, and Deadline III is March 3, 2021.

4. Generation Google Scholarship
Sponsor: Google
Amount: $10,000
Closing Date: December 4, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to aspiring students pursuing computer science degrees during the 2021-2022 academic year. Program is open to students who meet all the minimum qualification, but students who identify with groups that are historically excluded from the technology industry (Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander) are encouraged to apply.

5. Entrepreneurial Scholarship
Sponsor: Simmrin Law Group
Amount: $1,500
Closing Date: June 15, 2021
Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in, or have been accepted by, an accredited university/college in the United States. Applicant must have a passion for pursuing their entrepreneurial dream. Applicant must submit an essay on one of three given prompts related to entrepreneurs.

Scarlett Family Foundation College Scholarships
Sponsor: Scarlett Family Foundation
Amount: Up to $15,000
Closing Date: December 15, 2020
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who will or have graduated from a public, independent or homeschool association high school in 40 Middle Tennessee counties. Applicant must be pursuing a business or STEM approved degree at a four-year, non-profit college or university in the fall of 2021.
