Special thanks to HS4CC parent Rob B for this lead! Husson University in Maine (yes, regionally accredited) allows high school students to take 2 free online courses per semester. ANY STATE except California. Details below.
If you want two free dual enrollment courses, you have to sign up ASAP. These classes start Monday and you must allow time to register, fill out paperwork, and get your teen a textbook. I’m linking everything I have in the post below, so please do not waste time asking me questions- time is of the essence, you’re best bet is contacting them directly. Some of you are going to have questions about their vaccination requirement which (seems to me) could be waived for online students, but you’ll have to ask- I don’t know.
Jennifer, Thank you for your interest in Husson University’s Early College Access Program. Husson University’s Early College Access Program (ECAP) is open to all high school juniors and seniors who have met the following requirements
- Be a current high school junior or senior within the United States **
- Cumulative GPA of at least 80 or equivalent.
ECAP Students may enroll in up to two classes a semester and take a maximum of twenty-one credits tuition free, students are only responsible for the cost of textbooks or course materials. Eligible students will be registered for course(s) on a space available basis, after full-time Husson students have registered for the given semester. The university reserves the right to cancel any course due to low enrollment. For an ECAP student to take a 7 week course, they need to have either an A or B grade in a 15 week online or face-to-face college course. Spring 2021 courses can be found by following this link: https://www.husson.edu/course-offerings
ECAP students are not eligible to take course during the winter session.
With the safety of all students in mind, ECAP offerings for Spring 2021 semesters will be online courses only.
To enroll in Husson University’s ECAP program students are required to complete the ECAP application which is attached to this email. (see below)
ECAP students will be responsible for:
* Purchasing the textbook(s) used in each course.
* Complying with Husson University academic and student life policies.
* Submit immunization records prior to the start of classes.
* Transportation to and from class.
**Residents of California are not eligible to participate.
