THIS SUMMER Husson University in Maine (yes, regionally accredited) allows eligible high school juniors and seniors to take 2 free online courses. These are for college credit and should transfer into your target college in the future. You can take a max of 21 credits before you graduate high school! ANY STATE except California. Details below.
Husson University allows teens to take 2 free dual enrollment courses EVERY semester up to a maximum of 21 credits total (about 7 classes).
Their summer session consists mainly of shorter 7-week sessions, and they aren’t especially eager to allow high school students to take the shorter sessions without having first taken a full semester course. If your teen HAS taken a college course before, you may be asked to provide a transcript to demonstrate their ability to handle college-level courses. (During regular full semester sessions this is not the case)
The summer course list includes several good summer options. I pulled these from their list, but there are twice as many to choose from:
- Introduction to Business
- Economic Geography
- Business Law
- Business Ethics
- Professional Communications
- College Writing
- Approaches to Literature
