Where do MOST Students Take College Courses?

Over 80% of high school students who take dual enrollment courses do so through their own high school. It’s unique for homeschoolers because 100% of our community takes these courses independently, which is to say they enroll with the college directly.

Can you think of advantages of your student being enrolled independently? I can think of 3 that I’ve experienced with my own teens. I’m sure you have many of your own too.

  1. Freedom to pick and choose from thousands of colleges and tens of thousands of classes. We literally get to take classes from wherever we want!
  2. “Getting to drive during the school day” came from my 11th grader who loves his 25 minute drive to campus 4 times per week.
  3. Interacting with a variety of ages and adults. While I appreciate this isn’t always going to be an advantage, in our family, my sons have all felt more “adult” and made big progress in maturity after sharing classes with adults, so I count that as a win for us.
