You’re invited – Live event
We’ve got a double-whammy for our families with teens pursuing computer and technical careers – we have two new exciting ways for you to get informed and get connected!
THIS TUESDAY NIGHT
First, I’m very excited to announce the new monthly discussion panel. This “town-hall-style” panel will bring IT and computer experts from the industry with the heart of a teacher and enthusiasm for homeschoolers! They’ll provide insight and guidance in all aspects of computer science, technology, and cybersecurity careers. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and get support. Topics will change each month. These events will happen on the 3rd Tuesday of each month starting January 18, 2022.
January
Topic: IT and Programming Careers
January’s Distinguished Panel of Guests:
- Read King is homeschool dad and a Site Reliability Engineer for SparkPost with 30 years of experience in IT, programming, and uses Linux daily.
- James Carne is a Special Projects Technical Engineer, Software Engineer, Project Manager, Technical Document Engineer, Business Analyst, and Quality Assurance Engineer.
- Richard LaBass is a homeschool dad and Senior System Administrator with the Department of Defense. He works with Microsoft Windows and Linux Servers in a virtual environment, and uses PowerShell scripting for automation for internal customers around the world.

Second, I announced earlier this week that we’ve set up a fantastic new HS4CC Facebook group specifically for those of you with teens considering college credit, credentials, degrees, or career guidance in the Computer-related fields. If you haven’t already, be sure to join that group, it’s already bursting with great information!!
