2-Year Degrees: Snag #1
A common snag students experience when they attempt to transfer their associate degree into a 4-year university is that their associate degree was NOT a transfer degree, rather it was a terminal degree. Terminal degrees are intended to get student working- a wonderful goal- unless your goal is to attend a university with 2 years of college already finished!
Terminal degrees create a lot of confusion because the credits inside the degree will transfer, it’s just that the distribution of credits is a mismatch for the credits they’ll need for their general education requirements.
A perfect and seamless transfer isn’t lucky- it’s careful and intentional planning.
