Planning for WV Price Increases Fall 2023

West Virginia dual enrollment has been a budget-saver for our dual enrollment families. Currently, students in any state could take dual enrollment courses for only $25 per credit at almost every one of their 2 and 4 year colleges. We just found out there will be a price increase.

Earlier this month, West Virginia University announced a projected fall price increase from $25 to $75 per credit for out of state students. In-state will still pay $25. Currently and through summer, a 3-credit course costs only $75. Under the new fee structure it will rise to $225, still making the cut to remain on our “Cheapest Dual Enrollment” list, but just barely. What I don’t know as I write this, is if any other WV colleges will follow suit. If you hope to use one of these colleges, write them and tell them how much you appreciate their low cost. Customer feedback matters!!

Blue Ridge Community & Technical College (West Virginia)
Public 2-year college
Program Name: Dual Enrollment
Cost $75 per COURSE, $25 per credit, books extra. English/Math/Chemistry require placement testing, 2.0 GPA otherwise. Homeschool students must retrieve a letter from the County School Board Office verifying their enrollment. If not applicable, you may need to provide different documentation that you are homeschooling lawfully in your state.

Cost price increase fall 2023 to $75 per credit (currently $25 per credit) for high school grades 10-12 with 3.0 GPA, placement test may be required for some courses, 100 and 200 level courses only, 16-week semesters, on-campus course options for local students. Book costs unknown.
