Hi everyone, I’m Wendy and I’m going to be posting monthly scholarship info and links for your student. As I begin this journey of researching scholarships and scholarship search engines for myself, Jennifer invited me to share what I found with you! So, I am highlighting a new search tool each month. Link to last month’s post also included in this post.
Last month I introduced Unigo.com. (link to last month’s post) This month, I would like to introduce MoolahSPOT.com. If desired, you can create an account, or search without creating an account. An advantage to creating an account is that all of your profile choices are saved, and you can choose to have them send a monthly list of scholarships that match the profile. They have a search box where you can type in a specific search, for example: “Scholarships for women engineering students.” To complete the search various questions, beyond basic information like DOB and gender, can be answered to help filter scholarships. Some of the items asked include: heritage, religious affiliations, disabilities, college they may attend, college status, future career possibilities, sports, interests, special circumstances. Many of these fields allow for multiple submissions.
I created a search using my daughter’s information (10th grader with no idea of what she wants to major in). I received about 20-25 results. I’ve included two that most students could apply, as an example, even though the deadline is after September:
