Price per course = Entire course for 1 price. Price is fixed per class and number of college credits are not factored in. For example, a 2 credit course costs the same as a 4 credit course.
Price per credit = Typical college courses are usually more than 1 credit. To find the price, multiply the cost per credit times the actual number of credits of your course. For example, a college that charges $100 per credit will charge $300 for a 3 credit class.

Arizona State University (Arizona) Public 4-year university Program Name: Universal Learner Cost $25 per course / $400 per course, books included, pay $25 to register but $400 after the class only if you want the college credit on an ASU transcript (optional but necessary for transfer), any age/grade, no placement testing. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Florida) Private 4-year university Program Name: Dual Enrollment Cost $250 per credit, not “open enrollment” student must apply for acceptance, grades 9+, textbooks extra, 2.75 unweighted GPA, standardized test scores suggested, students work with academic advisors, courses offered on 9-week terms, courses in aeronautics, engineering, general education, and business. Franklin University (Ohio) Private 4-year university Program Name: Pre-College (out of state) College Credit Plus (in state) Cost $167 per credit for out of state students (in-state students eligible for free tuition under CCP), ACT or SAT may be used instead of Accuplacer placement test, restricted list of courses for students with less than 15 college credits, students with 15 college credits can take any course including upper level. Courses are LIVE. Students who complete 1 course during high school are eligible for a 20% discount on tuition for the rest of the degree after high school. Husson University (Maine) Private 4-year university Program Name: Early College Access Program (ECAP) Cost $0 for two courses per semester for a maximum of 21 credits over two years, 11th and 12th grades only. Full course catalog available assuming the student meets prerequisites and there is space. ECAP students get last priority. Indiana Institute of Technology (Indiana) Private 4-year university Program Name: Early Start Cost $75 per credit, books are included, free tutoring, testing required for admission, eligible grades 10-12, on-campus and distance learning, students who enroll after high school receive a $500 scholarship for each course they completed through Early Start (max 3), restricted lists of courses available for on-campus and distance learning. Middlesex College (New Jersey) Public 2-year college Program Name: High School Scholars Cost $125 per course (3 or 4 credits), age 15+, second semester 10th grade+, 8 credits per semester max, articulation agreement with NJ public 4-year universities for perfect transfer of associate degree, graduating seniors can take 1 course in the summer following graduation. 700 courses to choose from. Missouri Southern State University (Missouri) Public 4-year university Program Name: Dual Enrollment Special note: They also offer a public school program called Dual Credit, and the website does not do a good job at differentiation despite them having different guidelines. Trine University (Indiana) Private 4-year university Program Name: Dual Enrollment Cost: $50 per credit, 3.0 GPA required, high school transcript required, for 11th and 12th grades only. Indiana articulation agreement guarantees “core” courses to transfer to other Indiana colleges. More information |
University of Maine (Maine) Public 4-year university Program Name: Early College Cost $138 per credit, 12 credits per term max, placement exam required for math and English courses. Course selection limited to distance learning options. More information |
University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) Public 4-year university Program Name: Outlier Cost: $400 per class, 14 week classes, alternative online format using Outlier partnership courses, course and grade will be recorded by University of Pittsburgh identically to students who took the course through the university, books are included, 8th grade or higher, no placement tests (except for Calculus 1), no high school transcript required. University of North Dakota (North Dakota) Public 4-year university Program Name: Enroll Anytime Cost: $370 per credit, 100 and 200 level courses, year-round rolling start dates, self-paced, take up to 9 months to complete but not faster than 3 months. A single 3-month extension is available for $50. Textbooks are extra. There does not appear to be any requirements or restrictions for high school students. More information |
